René Runge aka Jaspa Jones knew very early on that he wanted to earn a living with music. When the first big techno wave came in 1989, René was the resident DJ in the legendary Düsseldorf club Ratinger Hof and made sure that Techno was heard. He supported his position as a Techno pioneer with various other club residencies such as in the Relax, Düsseldorf, for example. In 1993 René produced his first record on Talla 2XLC's label Suck Me Plasma and thought up the pseudonym Jaspa Jones for himself, a name under which he produced for numerous major labels and made remixes (e.g. RMB, Taucher, U96, NBG). During this time he also constructed the Spacedust Studio in Düsseldorf, where all "Blank & Jones" productions are created.
